Brandon Martin Named NCCAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week

GREENVILLE, Ill. - Brandon Martin of Greenville College has been selected as the National Christian College Athletic Association Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of February 7-13.Martin, a senior center for the Panthers, led his team to a 1-1 record for the week. In Greenville's 62-55 loss to Blackburn, Martin scored 19 points and had 9 rebounds.Martin had one of the best outings of his college career on Saturday, posting 31 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists as Greenville defeated MacMurray, 136-107. The 136 point effort was a new school record and SLIAC record for points by a team in a single game.The player of the week honor is Martin's fourth of the season. He has been honored two times this season by both the NCCAA and SLIAC. The Panthers (8-14, 5-6 SLIAC) find themselves in a fourth place tie in the SLIAC standings. They must finish fourth or higher to qualify for the postseason conference tournament at the conclusion of February.
