Dr. Larry Linamen Named 11th College President

GREENVILLE, IL--On July 1, 2009, Dr. Larry H. Linamen became the eleventh president of Greenville College. Linamen was unanimously elected to the position by the Greenville College Board of Trustees after a year-long, nationwide presidential search. Linamen succeeds retired president Dr. V. James Mannoia and interim president Dr. Edwin Blue.

Dr. Linamen brings a strong commitment to Christ along with extensive leadership talents and a superb track record of accomplishment in higher education which will facilitate Greenville College in the coming years," comments Rebecca Smith, Board of Trustees chair. "We are optimistic about working together to continue the legacy of Greenville during this time of great challenge and change."

Through every interaction and every interview with Dr. Linamen, it became clear he is the right fit for the responsibilities and duties of president of Greenville College."

Chair Rebecca Smith expresses the colleges appreciation for the leadership of Dr. Edwin Blue, who has served as interim president during this last year. During this interim period, Dr. Blue has kept us focused on our mission and has interacted faithfully with faculty, staff and administration, students trustees and donors across the country. His personal sacrifices made during this year are very much appreciated.

Linamen holds B.A. degrees in Business Administration and Accounting from Anderson University (1977), an M.B.A. from Ball State University (1978) and an Ed.D. in Business and Educational Administration from Ball State University (1984). He has published a book (1998) titled Guide for the College Bound: Everything You Need to Know.

Linamen has extensive experience in higher education. Previous posts include dean of Graduate Business Programs at Taylor University, provost at Colorado Christian University and provost at Dallas Baptist University. Speaking of his experience at other institutions, Linamen shares, "My faith has been strengthened as I have watched God work in these institutions and in my life as I daily seek His will. My experience, passion for Christian higher education, and devotion to the Lord are the confidence upon which I pursue this presidency."
