Dr. Mimi Haddad Scheduled to Speak at Convocation

Greenville College begins its 120th academic year with Convocation on August 31 at 9:30 a.m. Dr. Mimi Haddad, president of Christians for Biblical Equality, will discuss the role of the church in social revolution and in a changing society.

Haddad's address relates to this year's senior integrative study topic - Gender Roles in the 21st Century. Graduating seniors will discuss this topic as they take COR 401 as their general education capstone seminar, which is part of Greenville College's core curriculum.

Christians for Biblical Equality is the largest evangelical organization providing biblical resources on the shared authority and service of men and women. Haddad is part of the leadership of Evangelicals for Justice. She has written numerous articles and contributed to nine books, most recently Living Faith: The Fragrance of Christ. She also serves as an adjunct professor at Bethel University and North Park Theological Seminary.

A colloquium with Haddad titled "Men and Women: Equal but Different" is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. in Snyder Hall room 104.

Convocation and colloquium are free and open to the public.
