After opening 2010 with a home loss to Augustana University, the Panthers bounced back last week with a victory against Anderson University 41-35. It was a breakout game for senior RB Anthony Ambers who rushed for 252 yards andfour touchdowns on 30 carries. It was enough to earn Ambers the UMAC Offensive player of the week. The Panthers are still waiting for QB Joel Lira and their passing game to break out of this early season funk. Against the Ravens, Lira only completed one pass on the day. Albion Notes
TheBritons of Albion College are still looking for their first win of the season after last week's lost to Wheaton College 17-6. Albion opened the season with a loss to NCAA Division I FCS non-scholarship Butler University 29-13. Albion is led by RB Clition Orr who has rushed for a team high 187 yards andone touchdown this year. J.C. Cruse is the leading receiver for the Brits, averaging 21.7 yards per catch. Defensively, linebacker John Lesinski leads the team with 19 tackles.
