Greenville College Men's Indoor Track and Field Competes at Eastern Illinois Mega Meet

CHARLESTON, Ill. - Themen's indoor track and fieldteam traveled to the campus of Eastern Illinois to kickoff their 2011 indoor track and field season at the EIU Mega Meet on Saturday at Lantz Fieldhouse.

Junior Brian White turned in the best performance of the meet on the men's side, sprinting to a third place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.92 seconds and claiming the second spot in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.46. White's 60m mark sets a new Greenville record breaking Brandon Tripp's 6.96 effort in 2003, and ties him for third in NCAA Division III.

Other strong performances from the Panthers included an impressive debut from freshman Erwin "EJ" Fridge who placed in the top ten of both the men's weight throw (13.87 meters) and shot put (12.73), and junior Anthony Robinson who placed ninthin the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.06 seconds.

The Pantherswill next travel to Bloomington, Ill., on Saturday, Jan. 29,to compete at Illinois Wesleyanat 10a.m.
