GREENVILLE, Ill. - For the fourth time in Greenville College history, the men's soccer team has qualified for the NCCAA national tournament. The Panthers (15-5-2) accepted the invitation as the No. 2 seed and at-large selection to replace Olivet Nazarene University who withdrew from the tournament on Tuesday. The appearance in a season-ending national tournament is Greenville's third consecutive. In 2008, the Panthers participated in the NCAA Division III national tournament, and the 2007 Greenville squad earned sixth place at the NCCAA national tournament.

The Panthers will be attempting to match a school record for wins in a season when they go after win No. 16 in their matchup Wednesday afternoon at noon EST against Indiana Wesleyan University, the alma mater of GC head coach Brian McMahon. The semifinals and consolation semifinals are slated for Thursday, Dec. 3, and the championship day is Saturday, Dec. 5.

The 2009 Greenville squad placed second in the SLIAC tournament after completing the regular season as SLIAC champions. They earned the No. 1 seed in the NCCAA North Central regional where they lost to Judson University.

The season is Greenville's third consecutive with 15 wins and the 94 victories over the past seven seasons is the best seven-year stretch in the 53 years of Panther soccer.
