Greenville Men's Soccer Places Five on SLIAC All-Conference Team; McMahon Earns SLIAC Coach of the Year Award

GREENVILLE, Ill. - Following a season which saw the Greenville men's soccer team earn its second regular season conference championship, the squad was awarded five positions on the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) all-conference team. In addition, head coach Brian McMahon received the coach of the year trophy for the first time.

Leading Greenville's all-conference entries were sophomore midfielder Daniel Taylor of Village Ridge, Mo., and senior forward Matt Reeb of Belleville, Ill., who were first team selections. Senior defender Terrance Cosby of Jefferson City, Mo., and senior midfielder Justin Herfst of Hamilton, Canada, were recognized on the second team. Honorable mention honors went to David Dunlop of Coleraine, Northern Ireland.

Reeb posted 15 goals and 11 assists to lead the squad with 41 points. His 15 goals tied Dunlop for the team lead. Taylor was third in total points with 26 on eight goals and 10 assists. Taylor's goals placed fourth on the team, and his 10 assists were second.

Cosby posted five goals and one assist for 11 points, and Herfst tallied five points on one goal and three assists.

Dunlop added six assists to his 15 goals to rank second on the team with 36 points.

McMahon, now in his ninth season as head men's soccer coach, ranks second in the program's 50-year history for wins, winning percentage, and games coached.

After winning the conference regular season championship, the team took second place to Webster in the conference tournament. The team qualified for the NCCAA north central regional where it earned second place to Judson and then received an invitation to the NCCAA national tournament where it finished seventh in the nation.
