ST. LOUIS, Mo. GC men and womens track and field kicked off Easter weekend on Saturday with the Washington University STL Select Meet. The men took third place while the womens squad notched fifth for the Black & Orange club.
Seniors ruled the headlines on the womens side with both Penny Grant and Philita Johnson posting impressive first place finishes. Gray claimed the top spot in the race with a time of 10.93 and White crossed the timeline at 11.12. Gray again shined in the 200m competition with his second win of the day with a time of 22.16.
The 4x100m squad comprised of Anthony Ambers, Josh Garcia, White, and Gray dished out a sub-42 (41.90) in a second place effort to add to the sprinting notables.
In the field, junior transfer Jace Sloan launched a 53.92m heave in the Javelin to place first in the mens event. Sloan was the lone mens winner in the field on the day.
