Greenville Women's Soccer Sees Five Named to SLIAC All-Conference Team

GREENVILLE, Ill. - After completing the 2009 season with an overall record of 15-5 and taking third place in the conference standings, the accomplishments of five individuals on the Greenville women's soccer team were recognized following the championship game of the SLIAC tournament. Greenville freshman forward Mindy Siebert of Cape Girardeau, Mo., walked away with first team honors and the conference's newcomer of the year trophy, while junior midfielder Jackie Sievert of St. Charles, Mo., also earned a first team award.
Greenville entries on the honorable mention team were junior goalkeeper Lauren Beard of Highland, Ill., senior defender Kim Reddell of Camp Verde, Ariz., and junior forward Nikki Ziegemeier of St. Charles, Mo.
Siebert set a first year player record for Greenville with 28 goals during the season. She also totaled 12 assists to compile a total of 68 points in 20 games. Over thirty percent of her shots were goals, and she had four game winning goals. Her single-season total of 28 goals is second to Natalie Lappe's 29 among single-season records.
Sievert was second on the squad in scoring with 36 points on 12 goals and 12 assists. She is presently Greenville's all-time women's soccer record holder in career assists.
Beard posted a record of 12-5 and four shutouts during the 2009 season as Greenville's primary goalkeeper. She collected 88 saves in 19 games. She allowed 24 goals for a goals against average of 1.58.
Reddell anchored Greenville's group of defenders but still managed to post one goal and two assists for four points.
Ziegemeier tied Sievert for second in goals scored with 12 and also added seven assists for a point total of 31 which was third on the team.
The Lady Panthers completed their third straight season with a winning percentage of .700 or better. Over the past three years, the team has won 45 of 62 games and qualified for two SLIAC tournaments.
