Homecoming and Parents’ Weekend October 16-18

Sporting Events, Reunions, and the annual President's Road Race are on the schedule for a weekend of panther pride.

A Friday morning Homecoming chapel featuring Greenville College alumnus Scott Giffen, various sporting events, concerts by the music department and GC bands, and much more highlight the annual Homecoming and Parents' Weekend Friday through Sunday, October 16-18, at Greenville College.

Activities for the public begin Friday, October 16 with Homecoming chapel at the Whitlock Music Center at 9:30 a.m. Mr. Scott Giffen will be awarded the college's Outstanding Young Alumnus Award and will give the chapel address. As part of the class of 1999, Giffen earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and went on to New York University to further his education through a Masters Seminar in Europe with the Visual and Performing Arts Administration. Giffen and his wife Yvi currently reside in Atlanta, GA.

Friday evening, there will be a volleyball game against Robert Morris College in the H.J. Long Gymnasium and a concert presented by the music department in Whitlock Music Center.

A full schedule of activities is planned for Saturday. The day begins at 8:00 a.m. with the President's Road Race. The men's alumni soccer game and women's alumni volleyball game will follow at 9:00 a.m. Parents of students are invited to the Upper Union at 10:00 a.m. for a coffee break hosted by the President's Parents Cabinet and will have the opportunity to meet the college's new president.

Other sporting events will be held throughout the day. At 11:00 a.m. the women's alumni basketball game and women's alumni soccer game will kick off. At 1:00 p.m. women's soccer will host Fontbonne University while the football team plays against MacMurray College.

Class reunions begin at noon in the main dining room of the Armington Center for classes 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, and 2004. Childcare will be provided from 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. in LaDue Auditorium. Pre-registration is required.

The evening wraps up with men's soccer versus Fontbonne University at 3:00 p.m. and the men's alumni basketball team taking on this year's GC Panthers basketball team at 6:00 p.m. in the H.J. Long Gymnasium. A concert featuring student bands will begin at 9:00 p.m. in the Blackroom to close the night.
