"Inasmuch as you have done for one of the least of these brothers . . . sisters you did for me." -Jesus
The girls of 2nd West Oak, a residence hall on Greenville Campus, are sponsoring an awareness event and benefit concert Friday, May 7th, at 7 p.m., in support of their initiative to build a home for a Burundian war widow. The concert will take place in the campus Blackroom, and will feature West Oak's proudest musicians.
The girls of 2nd West Oak were convicted by Jesus' call to love the weak and oppressed members of society early on in the semester. They set out in search of a way that they could provide Greenville College with an opportunity to be love to the "least of these." Through this event, they hope to shelter a widow, advocate for social outcasts, spread Christ's glory, and be a true example and manifestation of love.
In addition to musical entertainment, the evening will also offer baked treats, grilling, badminton, handmade jewelry, and t-shirt designing on the Q. Come to the event with three dollars, a blank t-shirt, and an open heart. If 200 people participate, the group will have raised enough money to provide the widow with a new home.
Be a part of the effort to drastically improve this woman's life. Answer God's call to love the "least of these."
