Join the Revolution: Students Partner with Dirty Roots Revolution on Spring Break Mission
Published: April 13, 2021
What happens on spring break stays on spring break: unless, of course, you are one of the ambitious Greenville College students willing to sacrifice EVERY DAY of your spring break to conduct homeless outreach trips. Student members of the Dirty Roots Revolution , who will be in Greenville or the surrounding area during the College scheduled Spring Break, wish to give up every morning, March 15th through the 19th, to bless, visit with, and love on their homeless brothers and sisters in St. Louis.
The Dirty Roots Revolution (DRR), founded in 2008 by Greenville College Alum Ryan Mifflin, is a rebellion against apathy. The DRR hopes to encourage people to look at all of the trouble, pain, and problems of the world and have faith in their ability to make a difference. The Dirty Roots Revolution, as part of their Homeless Outreach program, takes volunteers to St. Louis every Saturday to distribute care packages. In addition to this program, the DRR serves as a conduit between worthy causes who have a need (publicity, volunteer power, etc.) and revolutionary individuals who want to be involved in good things that make a difference, but may not know how or where to start.
The students participating in the spring break outreach will not be conducting standard Dirty Roots Revolution Homeless Outreach activities. Rather than distributing full care packs, the students will deliver basic supplies daily. As such, the DRR does not possess the necessary resources to accommodate them for a whole week, as it is set up on a weekly distribution schedule.
The Dirty Roots Revolution believes that one person CAN make a difference, and that we all must try. The DRR is requesting your help to make that difference. "You don't have to change the whole world, just change someone's world for today."
Please consider supporting these students in their efforts and finding out more about how YOU can make a difference! Contributions can be sent to the Dirty Roots Revolution, C/O Ryan Mifflin, 615 East Oak St., Greenville, IL 62246. You can alsogive online at http://www.dirtyrootsrevolution.com/ .
