KMOX Radio Reporter Talks About GC Parent Experience
Published: April 13, 2021
"The ride to the campus the big morning of the drop off was subdued with no music, just the sound of the interstate," said Kevin Killeen on KMOX radio. Killeen is the voice behind the popular segment, "A Whole 'Nother Story," where he recently discussed his experience as a parent at New Student Orientation.
Killeen's daughter was looking for a Christian school with a strong teacher education program. "She did some checking online and talking to teachers and heard a lot of good things about the teaching program at Greenville College," said Killeen after the story aired.
His daughter made her own decision on which college to attend according to Killeen. When asked about his role in the decision, he cites a previous experience in Greenville. "I had told her I once ate dinner in town at the Greenville Dairy Queen, and the girl behind the counter told me I had given her a dollar too much. I was impressed. I wonder if that would happen in a lot of college towns."
Killeen and his wife were impressed with the spirit of the campus on drop-off day, and his daughter is enjoying her start at Greenville College. "My wife has called her a few times, and there's always girls giggling in the background and no hint of homesickness," Killeen said in his radio story.
