Lady Panthers Compete at Fighting Scot Invite

The Greenville College Women's Track and Field team traveled to Monmouth, IL for the Monmouth College Fighting Scot Indoor Invitational. This was the ladies last indoor meet before the NCCAA Indoor Championships and the team showed they were ready for competition.
Among the top performers on the day was freshmen jumper Tricia Gall (Troy, IL/Triad). Gall, once again, broke her own school record in the Triple Jump with an impressive 10.78m (35-04.5) to finish third overall.
Senior Ashly Masten (Petersburg, IL/PORTA) ran to a second place finish in the 200. Her run of 27.56 was her best on the season. In the 400, it was sophomore Philita Johnson (East St. Louis, IL/East St. Louis) who led the way by bringing home a fourth place finish in 1:00.95.
Michelle Sutton (Springport, MI/Jackson) continued to set the pace in the middle distance and distance events in the 3,000m Run. Michelle ran 10:46.09 to give the Lady Panthers yet another third place finish.
With all the outstanding performances on the day, it was Junior Rochaunda Harris (East St. Louis, IL/East St. Louis) who stood out above the rest. Harris tacked almost 2m to her previous best as she became the lone Lady Panther event winner on the day in the Weight Throw. Her throw of 17.30m (56-09.25) was an NCAA DIII automatic qualifier and currently ranks her third in the nation in DIII.
