Men's Basketball soundly tops Spalding

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The men's basketball team sent a strong message to the conference on Thursday as they rolled to a 67-50 win over a Spalding team that was picked second in the preseason poll. Greenville, slated fifth by SLIAC coaches, jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead and never looked back.
Senior Ron Harris produced a double-double for Greenville as he racked up a 15 point, 10 rebound stat line.
The Panthers shot 50 percentoverallfrom the field, including a 37.5 percent mark behind the three-point line.
Greenville outrebounded Spalding 39-30.
Junior Tim Daniel added 11 points in the win, and Brian Ehresman chipped in nine points and six assists.
Elmo Smith had a strong game off the bench with seven points, four assists, and two steals.
The Panthers (3-3, 1-0 SLIAC) host Westminster on Saturday at 3 p.m.
