MT. PLEASANT, Iowa -- The men's soccer team got a hat trick from freshman Jonny Madrid, and the Panthers rolled to a 7-0 victory over Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday.
Parker Wray added a goal and an assist, and Edgar Bueno had two assists.
The Panthers posted two goals in the first half and five in the second period.
Elliot Thompson, Josh Ripperger, and Brent Lehr also scored.
Goalkeeper Ian Hodge did not have to make a save as he shared the net with Sean Miday who had one save.
"It's always good to start conference play with a win," said head coach Chris Swift. "It is good to keep Jonny scoring, and I'm so happy that Parker was able to get his first collegiate goal. It has been coming the way he has been playing, and he took the chance really well!"
"We now turn our attention to our last non-conference game as we look to test ourselves against the best."
The Panthers (4-6) travel to Wheaton (IL) on Tuesday.
