Men's tennis picks up two wins

GALESBURG, Ill. -- The men's tennis team earned two team wins on Saturday as they defeated Knox and St. Ambrose.

Greenville topped Knox 9-0 before defeating St. Ambrose 5-4.

Greenville dominated in the first match as their doubles teams gave GC a 3-0 lead heading into singles play. All six singles players won in straight sets.

The St. Ambrose match saw Greenville leading 2-1 after doubles play.

The No. 1 team of Justin Tilford and Nate Wieland won 9-8, and No. 3 team Blake Gocey and Chris Heckman won 8-3.

In singles play, Greenville captured wins by No. 3 Code Power, No. 4 Gocey, and No. 5 Tilford to give them the 5-4 victory.

The Panthers (3-1) travel to their next match on Friday, March 11 at Franklin.
