Men's track and field finishes 5th at NCCAA nationals

MARION, Ind. -- The men's track and field team saw its 4x800 meter relay team win a national championship as a part of a collective team effort that piled up 47 points to earn fifth of 20 scoring teams at the NCCAA national championships.
In addition to the national champion 4x800 relay team, Greenville's Chris Crawford was second in the weight throw, and Jonah Peoples brought home second place in the 60-meter hurdles. The 4x800 relay improved their school record by six seconds.
The weight throw competition also had third and fifth place finishers from Greenville in Ryan Burgess and Dusty Atteberry.
Jarrid Williams was fourth in the triple jump.
Three entries recorded seventh place marks. They included Andrew Sharp in the 800 meter run, the distance medley relay team, and DaJuan Johnson in the shot put.
Selected members of the team will seek NCAA Division III qualifying marks at the last chance meet on February 26 at Principia.
