Men’s Basketball Upset By Principia 101-89

ELSAH, Ill. As the race for the SLIAC tournament enters it final days, themen's basketball teamtraveled to Principia Tuesday night in what should have been another notch on their season wins list. However Principia had other ideas as they hung a season high 101 points on the GC squad and completed the conference upset 101-89. Leading Greenville (10-9, 6-5 SLIAC) in the losing effort was senior Obinna Agomo who posted 22 points and seven rebounds.

There were fewsurprises fromPrincipia (6-12, 4-8 SLIAC) as SLIAC leading scorer Todd Zimmerman netted a game high 33 points andeight assists in the win.

Principia scored 58 points in the second half, shooting over 61 percent from the field to clinch the win.

Our defense was poor,said head coach George Barber. We had little answer all night for their offensive production and failed to match their energy.

The Panthers will next take the court Saturday, Feb. 12, as they battle MacMurrayat 3p.m.
