Men’s Indoor Places Third Overall at Illinois Wesleyan

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. The men'sindoor track and fieldteam traveled to Bloomington Saturday to compete at Illinois Wesleyanand put up 52 1/3 points to grab a fourth place finish among the 16 teams. Phillip Thomas led the Panthers with his NCAA Division III qualifying marks of 7.72 seconds and 7.74 seconds in the 55-meter hurdles.
Thomas, a junior, won the hurdle title on Saturday, and his time of 7.72 places him tenth in the nation in the event.
Junior Brian White continued his early season success with a first place finish in the 55-meter dash and a second place effort in the 200-meter dash.White's time of 22.35 seconds in the 200 ties the school record in the event, and his 6.50 mark in the 55places himfifth in the nation.
Senior Warith Fennoy added to the Panthers impressive day with a triple jump attempt of 45-9.25 to finish in the second slot in the event.
Overall, the team posted 17 NCCAA qualifying marks.
The menwill next compete at Jacksonville, Ill., in the Illinois College Dr. Jim Green Classic on Saturday, Feb. 5, at 11 a.m.
