Men's Indoor Track and Field Take Third at Illinois College

JACKSONVILLE, Ill.-- The Greenville College placed 3rd out of the 17 teams that competed, recording 68 points at the Dr. Jim Green Classic hosted by Illinois College. GC had three first place finishes; Josh Kuusisto in Weight Throw, Bruce Gray in 60m Dash, and the 4x200m Relay team.

Kuusisto placed first in weight throw with a distance of 17.57m, earning GC 10 points. He also earned 1 point for his team in shot put, placing 8thafter throwinga distance of 12.99m.

Bruce Gray had an impressive meet, earning 10 points for the Panthers in the 60m Dash with a time of 6,89 seconds. Gray also placed 2nd in the 200m Dash, finishing in 22.59 seconds andadding 8 points for Greenville.

BothMen's 4x200m Relay teams performed well, with the A team getting the other first place for the Panthers,finishing in 1:33:07. The Men's Distance Medley earned 8 points for GC with a time of 11:03:94. The A team came in 2nd and the B team followed closely in 3rd place, crossing the line at 11:23.72.

Other point-scoring Panthers included Josh Dees in 1 Mile (4th place), Josh Garcia in 200m Dash (4th), Darnez Stokes in Shot Put (6th), Ryan St. Hill in 60m Dash, Anthony Everett in 60m Hurdles (6th), and Bryant Simpson in 800m Run (8th).

The GC Men's Track and Field team will compete again Saturday, Feb. 9 in Monmouth, Ill. in the Fighting Scot Invite.
