Men’s Track & Field Dominates 2nd Annual SLIAC Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. The GC mens squad scored a staggering 273 team points on Saturday afternoon to win the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference crown on the campus of host Illinois College. Greenville notched ten first place finishers in the meet.

Individual champions included Brian White (100m, 200m), Trevor Thompson (5,000m), Phillip Thomas (110m), Lance Ward (Tie high jump), Matt Pollek (Tie high jump, Triple Jump), EJ Fridge (shot put, hammer throw), and Alex Wilson (Javelin).

The SLIAC Invitational was held in junction with the Illinois College True Blue Open that included 14 competing teams. Overall, Greenville finished third with 108.5 total points.

Men's track and field will next gear up for the NCCAA Championships spanning Thursday, May 5, to Saturday, May 7, and will be held on the campus of Olivet Nazarene University.
