Men’s Track & Field Finishes Third at RHIT Twilight Meet

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. The mens squad traveled to Terre Haute, Ind. on Friday to take part in the annual Rose Hulman Institute of Technology Twilight Meet. Mens Track & Field joined a field of 11 teams and notched a third place finish under the lights of the Cook Stadium Complex.
Headlining the days efforts on the mens side was freshman hammer specialist Jehosua Kuusisto. Kuusisto finished third in the hammer throw with a toss of 1538 and crushed his previous PR by 15 feet.
In the jumps Greenville placed two of the top three finishers in both long jump and triple jump to accumulate 24 points in the pits. Lance Ward and Matt Pollek went two, three respectively in the long jump, while Jumaane Bey and Pollek finished first and third respectively in the triple jump.
Brian White and Mark Mitchell finished one, two in the 100m dash with times of 11.25 and 11.41 respectively. Greenville notched five of the top seven finishers and posted 28 points in the single event.
In distance competition senior Cole Prins raced his way to a strong second place finish behind an effort of 8:55.38.
Mens Track & Field will next gear up for a big week, first traveling to campus of Illinois College on Tuesday, April 19 to take part in the IC Mid Week Quad, and then recovering for four days before competing in the SIUE Twilight Meet on Saturday, April, 30.
