Men’s Track & Field: Mitchell And Bey Named SLIAC POW

ST. LOUIS, Mo. Greenvilles Mark Mitchell and Jumaane Bey were named SLIAC mens indoor track & field performers of the week for the week of April 4-10.

Mitchell, a senior from Kansas City, Mo. (Raytown), has been named the SLIAC Men's Track Performer of the Week for the week of April 4-10.

Mitchell helped the Panthers to a third place finish out of five teams, four of which were ranked at the Washington University Select Meet. He placed second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.00 seconds, and he finished third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.09 seconds. Mitchell was also part of the 4x100 team that recorded a time of 42.19 seconds to place second out of seven teams in the field. He also ran the 4x400 with a 50.24 split, as the relay team placed sixth out of 15 teams with a time of 3:24.

Bey, a senior from Apple Valley, Calif., has been named the SLIAC Men's Field Performer of the Week for the week of April 4-10.

Bey recorded personal best records in both the long jump and triple jump at the Washington University Select Meet, which featured all ranked teams. He won the triple jump with a mark of 45'11.75". Bey also placed seventh in the long jump with a mark of 20'8". Greenville placed third out of five teams competing with a total score of 98 points.
