Men’s Track & Field Opens 2011 Outdoor Season at WUSTL

ST. LOUIS, Mo. Greenville College kicked off the outdoor track and field season braving the elements the Washington University Mini Meet on Friday night at the Bushyhead Track in St. Louis, Mo.

Greenville College joined host Washington University, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Wheaton College, and Anderson University in the five-team meet.

Though weather conditions included patches of snow, sleet, and rain with fifteen mph winds and temperatures near the freezing point, the men turned in several strong efforts.

GC was led by the 4x100 meter relay squad of Josh Garcia, Anthony Robinson, Ryan St. Hill and Mark Mitchell that claimed the first place spot in the event with a finish of 42.84.

Junior Alex Wilson notched the top spot in the Javelin, posting a 48.85 meter throw.

Greenville will next again travel to St. Louis as they compete at Washington University's Bushyhead Track Complex, as they prepare for the two-day WashU Invitational on April 1 and April 2.
