Men's Track Travels to Washington University

ST. LOUIS, Mo.-- The GC Men's track and field team competed in the St. Louis Mini Meet on March 22 and, despite impressive performances by many athletes, the team placed 6 out of 6 teams.
Some of Greenville's most impressive performances came from Josh Kuusisto; who placed 1st in the hammer throw with a throw of 54.76m, and the GC 4x100 Meter Relay team of Bruce Gray, Josh Garcia, Treyvon Manning, and Ryan St. Hill; who finished 2nd with a time of 42.36. Kuusisto earned 10 points for GC andthe 4x100 team earned 8 points for the Panthers.
That same relay team, of Gray, Garcia, Manning, and St. Hill,also performed well in the 4x400 Meter Relay. They finished in 4th place with a time of3:27.36 and earned 5 points for Greenville.
Bryan Waugh finished 3rd in the discus with a distance of 40.77m. Waugh earned 6 points for Greenville with this finish.
Jace Sloan nabbed a 3rd place finish in the javelin throw, with a distance of 52.83m. He added 6 points to the Panther total of 50.
Josh Dees also had an impressive meet, finishing 4th in the 1500 Meter Run and 6th in the 800 Meter Run. Dees finished the 1500m with a time of 4:04.96, earning 5 points for GC. Dees gained another 3 points for Greenville in the 800m, coming in with a time of 1:56.85.
The team will compete at Wash U again next weekend when they take part in the St. Louis Invitational.
