NCAA Championship Field Announced

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The Greenville College indoor track & field program will be well represented at the 2011 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships in Columbus, Ohio on March 11 and 12, landing three entrants across three separate events on the womens side.
Senior Rochaunda Harris leads the women onto the national stage competing at the national indoor meet for her second time. Harris is currently ranked sixth in the nation in the womens weight throw with her season best effort of 58-10.75.
Junior Penny Grant will be representing the Panthers in her fourth NCAA DIII national meet in five seasons as she has qualified for the womens long jump. Grant is ranked seventh in the nation with her effort of 18-6.
Joining Harris and Grant is junior sprinter Philita Johnson. Johnson, who has fought injuries all year long, has finished the 2011 indoor season strong and set several personal bests including her NCAA Division III 400-meter qualifying time of 57.77.
These three ladies have been the model of consistency for us all season, said head coach Brian Patton. We are hopeful of bringing back three all-Americans from Columbus and showcasing the talent that these ladies posses.
The 2011 NCAA Division III National Championships hosted by Capital University in Columbus, Ohio will get underway at 9:30 a.m. (Eastern Time) on Friday.
