Senior Edgar Townsend Races to NCAA Division III Indoor 55-Meter Hurdle Championship
Published: April 13, 2021
Greenville College senior Edgar Townsend is once again an NCAA Division III national champion. At the NCAA indoor championships this weekend at DePauw, Townsend ran a meet-best 7.46 seconds in the 55-meter hurdles to become Greenville's first NCAA Division III indoor national champion by five hundredths of a second.
"I had a good start. A couple of weeks ago my coach had me change my blocks which seemed to work. Right before the race my shoe broke and I got real nervous. The official gave me some tape, though.I came in sixth last year so this was a good improvement. I hope to repeat the championship outdoors."
