Softball offense not enough in two losses

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The softball team went to Rhodes and saw their offense pick up where it left off a year ago but lost a pair of games 13-12 and 14-10 to the Lynx. Greenville was powered by Cassandra Lueking who piled up four hits, including three home runs and 10 RBI in the twinbill.
In the first game, Greenville got three home runs from Cassandra Lueking as she drove in nine runs in the game. She hit a three-run homer in the first inning, a two-run shot in the third, and a grand slam in the fourth to give the Lady Panthers a 9-6 lead after four innings.
Rhodes took a one-run lead with four runs in the fifth and a two-run lead in the sixth, but Greenville tied the game in the top half of the next inning.
Rhodes won the game with a run in the bottom of the seventh.
In game two, Rhodes jumped out to a 9-0 lead after four innings, but the Panthers chipped away and tightened the score to 9-7 going into the bottom of the sixth.
Rhodes put four runs on the scoreboard in the bottom of the sixth, and Greenville could only muster three runs in the top of the seventh as they lost 14-10.
Bryn McKie went 2-for-3 with a run and four RBI in the second game.
The Lady Panthers (0-2) face Oberlin and Rhodes on Saturday.
