Underclassmen Lead Women’s Cross Country at Illinois State

NORMAL, Ill. Freshmen Suzanne Ford and Sophia Stiles helped pace GC in Fridays 28 team Illinois Intercollegiate Championships.
Ford and Stiles finished one and two for the Panther squad, crossing the 6K timeline at 20:45 and 21:23 respectively. The newcomers placed 102 and 118 overall, and helped Greenville to 642 team points and a 23rd place finish.
Sophomore Rosie Nelson also turned in a nice race, finishing third for the Black & Orange with a time of 21:39.
Held on the campus of Illinois State University, the meet included 291 competitors from 28 teams, including seven NCAA Division I programs.
Womens cross country will next hit the course Friday, September 23 as they travel to Rock Island, Ill. to take part in the Augustana Brissman-Lundeen Invitational.
