Women's basketball improves to 5-3

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa -- The women's basketball team traveled to Iowa Wesleyan to face Buena Vista in a neutral site game and came out on the winning side of a 73-54 decision.

Greenville's trio of Laura Goodnight, Coley Baker, and Taylor Paulin combined for 51 of Greenville's 73 points as Goodnight led all scorers with 18 points. Baker added 17 points, 13 rebounds, and two blocked shots. Paulin posted 16 points.

The Lady Panthers took a 27-18 lead after one quarter and extended the lead to a 45-28 halftime advantage. The teams were even in the third quarter, and Greenville outscored Buena Vista by two in the final stanza.

Greenville shot at a 41.1 percent rate, makng 23-of-56 shots. They were 10-of-21 behind the three-point line for a 47.6 percent mark. Buena Vista shot just 22.5 percent from the floor, including 18.8 percent from three.

The Lady Panthers (5-3) will face Blackburn on Saturday at 1 p.m.
