Women's volleyball sweeps past Blackburn

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The women's volleyball team moved another step closer to a SLIAC league championship with a 25-11, 25-15, 25-8 win over Blackburn on Saturday.

Riley Hannula led Greenville as she hit at a rate of .500 with 14 kills and two errors in 24 attempts.

Teammate Allyson Mitchell put away a match-high 15 kills, and Kirsten Laune provided 40 assists.

Overall, the Lady Panthers had 50 kills and 11 errors in 96 attempts, hitting at a clip of 40.6 percent.

Greenville's defensive efforts were led by Jamie Schollenbruch and Savannah Sells. Schollenbruch provided 13 digs, and Sells had five block assists.

The Lady Panthers (19-7, 14-1 SLIAC) host MacMurray on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the final home match of the regular season.
