Women's volleyball tops Marian, falls to Milwaukee Engineering

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The women's volleyball team saw their record pushed to 2-5 as they fell in a five set match to Milwaukee Engineering and then defeated Marian (WI) in three sets.
Four Lady Panthers had more than 10 kills in the first match of the day as Greenville lost 25-21, 25-23, 20-25, 24-26, 19-17.
Allyson Mitchell was tops on the team in kills with 22 in the morning match. Savannah Sells produced 16 kills. Riley Hannula added 12 kills, and Sierah Ruffner had 11 kills.
Kirsten Laune contributed 54 assists, and Jamie Schollenbruch had 29 digs.
Greenville nearly rallied from a two sets to zero deficit to win the match.
Greenville's second match went squarely to the Lady Panthers as they won 25-23, 25-20, 25-18.
Sells had 10 kills in the victory, and Laune added 31 assists.
Schollenbruch defended 19 Marian attacks for digs.
Hannula tallied three solo blocks.
After the event, Sells was announced as a member of the all-tournament team.
Greenville hosts Eureka and Westminster in their first conference action of the year next Saturday.
