Women’s Squad Separates For Tennessee Tech and St. Louis University Invite

GREENVILLE, Ill. Seniors Kristen Schutte and Penny Grant both moved up the NCAA national board on Saturday as they competed at Tennessee Techs Boston Moon Invite. Other members of womens track and field performed at SLU.

In Memphis, Tenn. Grant headlined the notables and placed first in the triple jump with a leap of 11.74m that vaulted her to a tie for eighth in all of NCAA DIII. Grant currently sits ninth in the 100m and tenth in the nation in long jump.

Kristen Schutte improved her seasons standings with a lifetime PR toss of 49.65m to move into 16th place in the nation and claim the first place spot in the womens hammer throw. Schutte also won the javelin throw with a launch of 39.0m and rests in the 18th spot nationally in NCAA DIII.

Shuffling locations, it was the 10K that dominated the Panther mentionables at the St. Louis University Invitational. Sophomore Aubree Schreder (20:16.61), freshman Sophie Stiles (20:54.14), and freshman Jessica Przybylski (21:57.37) all qualified for the NCCAA Championships with their times.

Womens track and field will return to action on Friday, April 20 as the club travels to Terre Haute, Ind. and competes at the Rose Hulman Invitational.
