Women’s Track And Field Competes at Monmouth College

MONMOUTH, Ill. Greenville Womens Indoor Track and Field made its way to Monmouth, Ill. Saturday to take part in the Monmouth College Fighting Scot Invitational. No team scores were kept, but that didnt stop the Lady Panthers from putting on several impressive performances.

Headlining the day for the ladies was senior Penny Grant. Grant raced to her lifetime best in the 55m dash with a time of 7.41 in prelims, and a third place finals effort of 7.44. Grant also had a NCAA Division III qualifying jump of 1711 to notch another third place finish.

Senior Rochaunda Harris continued to dominate the womens weight throw with a season best attempt of 581-1/4. This toss ranks her third nationally in NCAA Division III, and earned her first place by nearly three feet.

Overall the women finished the day with two NCAA Division III qualifying marks and 16 NCCAA qualifiers.

Greenville College Womens Indoor Track and Field will next gear up for the NCCAA Indoor Championships Saturday, February 19 taking place on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan.
