Women's Track Competes in St. Louis Mini Meet

ST. LOUIS, Mo.-- The GC Women's track and field team traveled to Washington University to kick-off their spring 2013 outdoor season. The team had a few great performances, but finished 6th out of 6 teams competing. Maggie McMurtrey was the top athlete for the Lady Panthers, earning two first place finishes.

McMurtrey finished first in both discus, with adistance of 35.10m,and hammer throw, with a distance of 44.50m. McMurtrey also had an impressive finish in shotput, coming in third with a distance of 10.85m. McMurtrey earned a total of 26 points for GC.

Haley Fahnstrom finished 2nd in the hammer throw with a distance of 41.98m, which added 8 points for the Lady Panthers.

Taylor Brunner came in 2nd place in the javelin, throwing 34.78m and earning GC 8 points.

The team will travel to Wash U again on March 29 to compete in the St. Louis Invitational.
