Women’s Track & Field Sweeps SLIAC Awards; Sutton & Schutte Claim Hardware

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Greenville Colleges Michelle Sutton and Kristin Schutte have been named the SLIAC Women's Track and Field Performers of the Week for the week of April 25-May 1. It marks the second time this season that both have earned the honor.

Sutton, a senior from Springport, Mich. (Jackson), has been named the SLIAC Women's Track Performer of the Week for the week of April 25-May 1. It marks the second time this season that she has earned the honor.

Sutton won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:22.83 at the SLIAC Invitational held in conjunction with the Illinois College True Blue Open. She also placed second in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:53.95, and she was a member of the Panthers' 4x400 that placed third with a time of 4:15.53.

Schutte, a junior from Stewardson, Ill. (Stewardson-Strasburg), has been named the SLIAC Women's Field Performer of the Week for the week of April 25-May 1. It marks the second time this season that she has earned the honor.

Schutte placed first and recorded a new school record with a mark of 128'8" in the javelin throw at the SLIAC Invitational held in conjunction with the Illinois College True Blue Open. She also placed second in the hammer throw with a mark of 136'6".
