Campus blood drive yields 27 pintsNearly 30 members of the Greenville University community donated enough blood to impact more than 100 lives during an on-campus drive on Sept. 20.

Conducted by ImpactLife, a regional blood center in Earth City, Mo., the drive allowed donors to give blood in a mobile collection bus that was parked on campus from 11 am to 3:30 pm. The arrangement with ImpactLife has been in place for several years, and the drives are held once each semester.

“It was a great turnout,” said Ashley Williams, an ImpactLife representative. “As usual, we need blood donations to keep our supply levels up, so this will really help. The 27 units collected will allow us to provide blood materials to more than 100 patients.”

ImpactLife is headquartered in Davenport, Iowa, and serves patients in more than 120 hospitals in Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Each year, the organization collects more than 200,000 units of blood at more than 4,000 mobile blood drives.
