GU opened its new University Hall for the fall semester 2024 with a state-of-the-art 4,000-square-foot workout facility for its students and athletes. For several years, students have requested an on-campus workout facility, as they have had to drive or sometimes walk to the Annex to work out.

All GU athletes will move to designated training times within the new Jack Trager Athletics Performance & Training Center in University Hall. This on-campus facility should also increase non-athlete use, which is part of GU’s commitment to holistic student wellness.
Greenville University’s Annex building near the John M. Strahl Athletic Complex has served the fitness needs of students, alums, and community members for many years. The aged workout equipment, the demand for structural repairs, and the cost of operating two workout facilities made the continued operation of the Annex impossible at this time and the University will close the facility on September 1.
Greenville University administration hopes to share another facility with the community one day and is currently in pursuit of such collaborations.
