Registration now open for Panther 5K Run/Walk

Registration is now open for this year’s Panther 5K Run/Walk, which will be held on Saturday, October 19, during Greenville University’s Homecoming Weekend celebration.

Runners and walkers of all ages are invited to participate, and awards will be presented in several age groups for both men and women participants. The 5K Run/Walk participation cost is currently $30, though the price will increase after October 4. Current Greenville University students pay $10. The participation cost for the Kids Fun Run (for ages 4 through 8) is $5. Registration for the Kids Fun Run will be taken through the morning of the event.

The Kids Fun Run starts at 8 a.m. and the Panther 5K follows at 8:30 a.m. The 5K route begins near Hogue Tower in the 300 block of College Avenue, goes west on College Avenue, circles through the downtown square, goes back east on Main Street, turns north on Elm Street past the campus, and then winds through the northeast quadrant of town before returning to campus on College Avenue. Awards will be presented following the race.

“We’re excited about engaging the community in this year’s Panther 5K,” said Robyn Florian, GU alumni events coordinator. “We invite area residents to participate in this event, which starts and finishes on the GU campus, but winds through our beautiful city.”

The Panther 5K is one of many 2024 Homecoming events occurring October 17 - 19. Register at panther5k.org before October 4 to guarantee early-bird pricing and get a Panther 5K T-shirt.
