TICKETS NOW ON SALE FOR LITTLE WOMEN AT THE FACTORY THEATRE
Published: October 17, 2024
Greenville, IL — The Factory Theatre is thrilled to announce that tickets are now available for its Fall 2024 production of Little Women, adapted by Kate Hamill from Louisa May Alcott’s beloved novel. Directed by former faculty member and longtime Greenville community member Rich Young, the production breathes new life into the classic story of the March sisters—Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy—as they navigate love, ambition, and family bonds during the Civil War. The play explores themes of sisterhood, personal ambition, and societal expectations.
Jo March, the independent and headstrong protagonist, is determined to become a writer and challenge traditional gender roles while her sisters pursue their dreams and navigate complex relationships. Hamill’s adaptation stays true to the original spirit while infusing contemporary energy and wit into the dialogue, making it relevant for today’s audiences. The play balances humor and poignancy as it examines the roles and expectations of women in both the 19th century and today.
