Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) has named more than 200 colleges and universities, including Greenville University, to its 2025 Transfer Honor Roll. That distinction recognizes excellence in the development and support of dynamic and innovative pathways for community college transfer students to continue their education at a four-year institution.
The Transfer Honor Roll is determined by 40 key metrics measuring support and success for transfer students, including college costs, financial aid, campus life, admission practices, and bachelor’s degree completion.
Results were based on analysis from the National Student Clearinghouse and data submitted through each institution’s PTK Connect profile, Phi Theta Kappa’s online tool designed to help students find their best-fit colleges and career pathways.
Colleges that complete the PTK Connect profile receive a Transfer Friendliness Rating, with Honor Roll recognition awarded to the top 25% of institutions.
Introduced at the 2022 American Council on Education (ACE) conference, Transfer Honor Roll highlights the importance of creating strong transfer pathways that lead to excellence and success among community college transfer students.
This year’s winners achieved exceptional outcomes, including:
- Average percentage of undergraduate population made up of transfer students: 43%
- Average bachelor’s degree completion rate among transfer students: 66%
- Average credits transferred toward degree requirements: 85%
- Average percentage of transfer students receiving merit-based aid: 73%
“The goal of most students attending community college is a bachelor’s degree, but few accomplish that because of financial barriers and the complexities of the transfer process,” said Lynn Tincher-Ladner, president and CEO of Phi Theta Kappa. “We are proud to recognize the exceptional colleges and universities that go above and beyond to create accessible pathways to bachelor’s degree completion for community college transfer students.”
Phi Theta Kappa is the premier honor society recognizing academic achievement among students at associate degree-granting colleges and supporting their growth as scholars and leaders.
The Society has more than 3.8 million members and nearly 1,300 chapters in 10 countries, with approximately 240,000 active members in U.S. colleges and universities. Learn more at ptk.org.
