Remembering Cameron Crowe
Published: June 30, 2026
With heavy hearts, the Greenville University community grieves the loss of sophomore Cameron Crowe, who passed away Thursday, June 25. He was from Sullivan, Illinois.
Cameron arrived at Greenville in the fall of 2025, bringing with him a strong faith, a love for baseball, and the excitement of beginning a new chapter. As a member of the Panther baseball team, he quickly became part of a close-knit community of teammates, coaches, classmates, and friends who now share in the heartbreak of his loss.
Cameron's absence will be deeply felt by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Greenville University baseball coach Lynn Carlson remembered Cameron as a player with a big personality and a love for his faith and his teammates.
“It’s an incredibly sad day for the Panther Baseball Program. We will remember Cameron for his competitiveness and determination on the field as well as his faith, his character, and his loyalty off the field. He loved to laugh and loved to compete,” said Carlson. “Cam will be missed by his teammates and coaches alike.”
"Please join me in lifting up in prayer Cameron's parents, family, teammates, friends, and all who knew and loved him. We pray that they experience God's peace, comfort, and strength in the days ahead,” said Greenville President Suzanne Davis. “When our campus community returns this fall, we will gather together to honor Cameron's life, celebrate the impact he made on our community, and remember the legacy of faith, kindness, and love that he leaves behind.”
As the Greenville community grieves alongside Cameron's family, we are reminded that every member of this campus leaves an imprint on those around them.
In the days ahead, Greenville University will continue to support Cameron's teammates, classmates, faculty, and staff through counseling resources, pastoral care, and opportunities to gather in prayer and remembrance.
While words cannot lessen the sorrow of this loss, we find comfort in coming together as a community—bearing one another's burdens, extending Christ's love to those who are hurting, and remembering a young man whose life touched the lives of those around him.
We ask that you continue to keep Cameron's family, his teammates, his friends, and all who knew and loved him in your prayers.
