Greenville University Honors Five Alumni for Lives of Faithful Service

The 2026 alumni award recipients have carried Greenville’s commitment to character and service into medicine, science, music, ministry, and global business.

Greenville University will recognize five alumni whose careers and communities reflect lives shaped by faith, learning, and service during Homecoming festivities in October.

The University’s 2026 alumni award recipients have made an impact in medicine, cosmology, the music industry, education, ministry, and global business.

Although their paths span different generations and professions, each honoree has used their gifts to serve others and remained connected to the values formed at Greenville.

Dr. Mark Rose ’76 will receive the Distinguished Alumnus Award for exceptional professional achievement and faithful service. Rose pursued careers as a physician, surgeon, and attorney before retiring after 23 years as chief legal officer at Aultman Health Foundation.

His commitment to lifelong learning extends to his service to Greenville, where he has served on the Alumni Board and Science Advisory Council and consistently supported the University’s mission.

The Outstanding Young Alumnus Award will be presented to Dr. Elle Shaw ’16 for her achievements in cosmology. Shaw serves as a postdoctoral fellow at the Texas Center for Cosmology and Astrophysics at The University of Texas at Austin.

Through collaborations such as SPIDER and the Simons Observatory, she studies the early universe using advanced instrumentation and data analysis. Her research has taken her from Antarctica to international observatories. Recently awarded a National Science Foundation Astronomy and Astrophysics Postdoctoral Fellowship, Shaw will continue her research at UT Austin.

Chaz Corzine ’81 will receive the Robert A. Briner Salt & Light Award for integrating faith with professional excellence throughout more than 35 years in the music industry. As co-founder of The MWS Group, Corzine helped guide influential Christian artists including Michael W. Smith, CeCe Winans, and Amy Grant.

He now serves as founding executive director of the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at Belmont University and has supported causes of hope and healing through service on numerous nonprofit boards.

The Dr. Gene A. Kamp Loyalty Award will honor Jesse Moore ’51 for a lifetime of service to Greenville and his community. After graduating from Greenville, Moore served 26 months in the U.S. Army, attended graduate school, and spent 35 years as a teacher and counselor in the Flint, Michigan, public schools.

He and his wife, Linda Moorhouse Moore ’55, raised three children who also attended Greenville. A lifelong member of the Free Methodist Church, Moore has served in numerous leadership roles and continues to support Greenville University and other Christian causes.

Jessica (Ford ’01) Ray will receive the Ruth (Smith) Winslow Leadership Award for Christ-centered leadership with a global reach. Ray serves as president of GOEX Apparel and Strong Family, initiatives that work to strengthen families in vulnerable communities. Her teams create opportunities designed to restore dignity, expand access to education, and break cycles of poverty so children can grow up in safe, loving homes.

Ray also serves on Greenville University’s Board of Trustees.

Together, the five honorees demonstrate how a Greenville education continues far beyond graduation.

Through discovery, leadership, generosity, and service, they are using their callings to make a lasting difference in their professions, communities, and the world.
