You are considered a first-year student if you completed your secondary education in your home country that is equivalent to a U.S. High School Diploma and have never been enrolled full-time as a university student.
You are considered a transfer student if you have earned your secondary education in your home country or at a U.S. based high school, and previously enrolled and completed courses at a university in the U.S. or in another country.
